She probably will clear a first round and will probably retire in the 2nd/3rd round, might be walkover who knows.
Like everyone, I hope she can make it, but I also hope she doesn’t compete if there’s a risk of the injury getting worse. We don’t know what it is, but clearly some things down there can be very serious. Avoiding a ruptured Achilles must be the priority. But she’s had this on and off for ages – there was tape on that calf for weeks last year. So with luck it’s just an intermittent flare up of something less serious. As for her title chances, the missed prep time could be the problem.
